February 24, 2014

Hey Mom and Dad,

We had a really good week. Me and my comp have been waking up an hour early so we can to to a gym, so we work out!! Because a member owns the gym and we are actually teaching people there, it's pretty cool. That's awesome Wesley got home. I am sure Wes did a great job. Briley is 12. She is getting so stinker old, haha. It sounds like you have a really busy week. Good luck at winter range. Hopefully you guys do good. You woke up early to head out if the sun isn't up yet. I hope it goes good. I will pray for you guys. That's cool the temple is getting dedicated. Well, I did instant message Micah Rogers and asked him about his grandma. Well, I sure do love him. He is a really nice guy and I am glad he is still in our ward. I did get my bike fixed and I have been riding it. It's so much better to have a nice bike instead of having a broken one. It's so nice to bike up hills now. Well, I helped George a less active member fix his lawn mower and mowed his lawn. I miss that smell of fresh cut grass! I know my comp pretty good. It's crazy we are on week 4 of transfers! Time is flying by. I am doing good. Just hanging in there and trying to find people to teach the gospel too. I seem to cry too when I teach classes so your not the only one. Well, I love you and hope you have a good week.

February 17, 2013

Oh, dang dad, that would be crazy to see Chisholm get dragged. That would be crazy to see but it would be funny after it's all over! Well, I am glad he is okay. It's starting to warm up a little here in Florence.  It's been super windy and rainy here. How was the Reed rodeo? Did you guys take pictures? I wish I could have been there to the open house. I am sure the temple is really pretty!! You are doing a good job on inviting Mark to it. Keep up the good work.
Well, this week flew by and me and my comp got lot done. So we went 20 miles north of Florence to go see a less active. We knocked on the door and this lady answered and we asked if Sister Hunsaker lived here and she said no. We ask how long she lived here and she said a couple of years. We were like okay and we started to leave because we had other things to do. She asked us if we believed in angels and I said ya. She said, "I see them and they tell me stuff." Both me and my comp looked at each other and had a really bad feeling. We started to ask a question and she said she believes in a higher power but thinks god is a man with a cats head, so weird. Then she said she has been praying to know which church to join. I said a young boy was doing the same thing as you and told her about Joseph Smith and I was about to give the 1st vision. She cut my off and started to talk about the arch angel and how he needs to be saved and I was like whoa we need to leave. So we gave her a Book of Mormon and left. We probably won't go back. But other that that crazy lady we taught some really good lessons and we are hoping we will get a baptism next month. But I am pretty sure I will be leaving next transfer as I have been here for 5 1/2 months. It will be sad to leave this area but than again it will be good. So Friday we helped this guy frame his house and we were asking him questions and he was asking us questions. He said he wants to learn more so we are going over to his house later this week to watch the Testaments with him. He is a really nice guy!! Then we taught the gospel of Jesus Christ to Levi and his kids and I taught them the glass bottle and the egg and the matches lesson. They were really into it and it was really good. We are going over to hang out with him today. Well, other than that we have been tracking a bunch trying to find the people.
Hey, Can you tell John to write or email me. I haven't heard from him in a while. Well, I love you and hope you have a wonderful week. Always remember that we are all missionaries and we need to find Jesus' lost sheep.

Feb 10, 2014

Hey Mom and Dad

It's good to hear from you!! That was a crazy spiritual thing that happened to you being stuck in the tree. I am glad you are okay and that Heavenly Father answered your prayers. That would of hurt if you fell down. This past week I have been looking for the positive things instead of the negative ones and it's really helped me out. Last week I didn't want to be on a mission any more. I had no more fire:( But Wednesday our zone got to go to the Temple and I prayed in the Celestial room and I prayed to have the fire like I had when I first came out in 2011. God did answer my prayers because I don't have that desire anymore and I want to finish my mission and endure to the end. I have made it this far so why should I quit now. Well, my story isn't quite like yours but I know God does answer prayers and he doesn't put you through a situation that you can't handle.  I love how each day you learn so much and how it grows your testimony. I am doing good.
It's been really cold and it snowed up here, but now it's just raining. I am glad an investigator got me a really big jacket because I would of froze.  We are still doing service as our Bishop said he would rather us to do serve than tracking.  And I agree with him. We find more people doing service than we do tracking here in Florence.  All of our investigators have come through doing service. Well we went out to Mapleton and did some service for some less actives there. We are building a green house for a load in their ward. Other than that we have been doing good but don't have anyone to teach but that will change here soon.
Well, I am glad everyone had fun at the rodeo. You will have to send me pictures or put them on the blog. Well, I will let you know next week about our gators because we don't have any right now. Well, I am glad you guys are doing good and that you are working at the Temple.
I love you and thank you for everything you do for me. I hope you have a SAFE and exciting week. I will talk to you next week.

Feb 3, 2014

Hey Mom,

I love your Spanish. I don't remember any of the Spanish that I learned:( but of well. My new companion is kind of hard to get along with but I am still working on that and looking for the positive thins:) I know that he is very young as he is 18 and that's about it. Well the Hamilton's are doing okay. He is still smoking but is cutting way back!! He only does like 4 a day so that's really good. I know he will quite smoking:) I have been in Florence hot a very long time. I am working on my 5th month. I hope the people here like me:) They are great!! So last week I was struggling really hard. I just wanted to go home. But after I bore my testimony on Sunday I came to the conclusion that I don't want to go home. I made it this far I just got to endure to the end. But it's been rough.
Yes, I remember Sis Reid. She was awesome! That was nice for her to stop by and say hi. You need to drive over to Mark's house and invite them, that's my challenge to you! I know Kylee got married as I saw that on Facebook:) I am glad she did and I hope she is happy:) Take pictures of the Reed Rodeo as I wanna see how that goes! The weather up here has been pretty nice but Sunday and today I an freezing!! It is windy and raining and the high is suppose to be 37 and the low 22 which is un normal here in Florence!!  I feel bad for Vanessa being in that cold weather. I am driving again and I have been driving safe:) So this Wednesday we are going down to the Medford Temple to go through. I am really excited for that but it's about a 4 hour drive:/ Not to excited about the drive but oh well, as long as I get to go in, Someone in the ward gave a name that I can do. That was nice of her to do that!!! hmm other than that we have been trying to find an investigator on our own but no success yet. I know we will find someone soon:) As long as we have the faith.
Oh, just to let you know, I hurt my knee a week ago and it's been hurting lately so tonight I am going to have someone look at it. I hope nothing is wrong with it.
Well, I love you and I hope you have a wonderful week.
